Today's Verse and Voice reflection included this quote from theologian, pastor and martyr Deitrich BonhoefferA prison cell, in which one waits, hopes ... and is completely dependent on the fact that the door of freedom has to be opened from the outside, is not a bad picture of Advent.Our faith is one of hope and not smug self-assurance and of humility and not triumphal arrogance. It is good to be reminded at the close of Advent what this season represents and what our calling is.
